I met up with Victoria & David at the William Cecil Hotel for their Burghley House pre-wedding shoot, so we could have a quick look at their wedding venue first. We then cut through the trees at the back and into the Burghley Estate. It’s a perfect place for romantic photos as there’s a combination of pretty pasture and open grassland, huge oak trees, and of course Burghley House and all the majesty that comes with it. At the start of the shoot there were some ominous clouds rolling our way; it felt like we wouldn’t be dry for long. Regardless, we pressed on, and I had one eye on finding shelter should we need it. We made use of the beautiful grounds and weaved our way through the flocks of sheep grazing everywhere, exploring different areas and stopping by the best spots for natural and relaxed photos. I try and keep the posing to a minimum and let the personalities come to the foreground. Fortunately, the worst of the weather missed us and we were only subjected to a light shower. Soon after it was gone, the sun appeared and we got a little bit of nice evening light to end the shoot with. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer and like the idea of a Burghley House pre-wedding shoot then please get in touch.
