Nicola & Tom’s Granary Estates wedding at the start of the summer was my second visit to this lovely venue and it’s always a real joy to shoot there. It’s perfectly set up for weddings with beautiful flint barns that have been smartly restored, a colourful and well-considered garden in the courtyard, outdoor spaces for guests to relax and children to explore, all set in gentle farmland making an idyllic backdrop to any wedding. The day of the wedding began elsewhere, as Nicola was getting ready at her family home with her bridesmaids and her brothers were around too, and everyone was really relaxed. Once the bridal party were ready they headed to Nicola & Tom’s cottage in Shudy Camps where a horse drawn carriage was waiting to take them to the church in style. After the ceremony and following shower of confetti, everyone made their way to the Granary Estates for the wedding reception. Drinks and canapes were served in the garden and we then made time for family photos, before exploring the surrounding grounds with Nicola & Tom to create some portraits of just the two of them.
The guests then took their seats in the Granary Barn for the wedding breakfast, which would also later serve as the room for the evening party. After the speeches most guests made their way outside to enjoy the warm evening sun and the swing in the shade of the tree saw plenty of action. We were even lucky enough to have a gorgeous sunset as a backdrop for a few more photos, before the party got into full swing. The first dance was celebrated with the firing of a confetti cannon and set the tone for the rest of a wonderful evening.
Many congratulations to Nicola & Tom, and thanks for choosing me to photograph your wedding! If you’re looking for a Granary Estates wedding photographer then please get in touch.
