Gabi & Reece’s Bassmead Manor wedding was a magical day, and for lots of reasons. The day began with Gabi and her bridesmaid’s getting ready in the bridal cottage. Bassmead Manor is one of those venues that is perfectly set up for weddings with everything on-site and convenient. Reece was also in a cottage on-site to get ready with his groomsmen, and it was easy to photograph both the bridal and grooms side as they are only a minute’s walk apart. The ceremony took place in the 300 year old Rickety Barn, and immediately after the guests threw confetti and were then gathered for the big group photo which you can take from the window of the Bridal Boudoir. Everyone then made their way to the main gardens where drinks and canapés were served, and magic Ricky Locke wowed the crowds with card tricks and other impressive sleights of hand. We made time for some family photos and a few of Gabi & Reece, but it was soon time for the wedding breakfast and so we would save more photos for later and when hopefully the light would be better. Guests took their seats in the modern Bridge Barn, which is bathed in lots of natural light from large windows, and the space was decorated beautifully. After dinner, guests enjoyed a series of speeches before the evening guests arrived. We then went out for a stroll with Gabi & Reece to shoot some more portraits of them together, in the soft evening light. It was soon time for the first dance, and then the party got started and we even had some breakdancing from the bride – you don’t see that too often.
