Great Lodge wedding photography
P & D held their Anglo-Indian wedding at the Great Lodge in Essex. It’s a beautiful venue set among vineyards and rolling farmland, with the Anne of Cleves barn as its centrepiece. I’d first met D in a beach bar on a remote Thai island around 8 years ago. We’d stayed in contact via Facebook and I was delighted when he got in touch to say he was getting married and wanted me to be the photographer! The day began with P getting ready for the Hindu ceremony, and D leading a procession with his family around the grounds to where the ceremony would be held. I’d never been to an Indian wedding before, so as a photographer it was really exciting, and as an anthropology graduate it was really interesting to observe a different set of rituals. After the Indian nuptials were completed, we made time for some couple shots, and the guests enjoyed drinks and an Indian lunch while P and D got changed to be ready for the English ceremony. This was held in the Anne of Cleves barn, a beautifully restored yet rustic Tudor building, and immediately after the signing of the register everyone headed outside for confetti, more drinks and photos. It was then time to head back inside for dinner and speeches, and then once some of the tables were cleared, the band started and the evening celebrations began. We managed to sneak outside to catch the end of the sunset and get a few more photos of P and D. Back inside, the dancefloor was packed and their friends really knew how to party, and a conga line snaked around the barn!
This was such a fun wedding with awesome people, an amazing venue, superb weather and a continuation of great moments. If you’re looking for a Great Lodge wedding photographer then please get in touch!
