Gabby & Chris chose the beautiful Hinchingbrooke Country Park for their pre-wedding photoshoot – a place they fell in love with as it formed their daily walks during the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021. It’s a fantastic outdoor space with tranquil lakes, woodland, grassland and meadow with paths and trails around the park. There’s play spaces and a cafe too – making it also a great place for families and I have since been back with my own children for a play and explore.
We timed Gabby & Chris’ Hinchingbrooke Country Park pre-wedding shoot to try and utilise the best light of the day (usually the last 90 minutes before sunset) – and were rewarded with gorgeous golden light raking across the scenery and large expanses of blue sky. As it was spring time we had beautiful blossoms to incorporate into the photos and found ways to frame up through various bits of foliage to create interesting compositions.
I like to try and keep my pre-wedding shoots to be natural and flowing, so are often based around walking and exploring an area, getting lots of unposed photos as well as giving some guidance and input during other moments to create warm and loving portraits that celebrate the connection between the couple. Gabby & Chris were absolute naturals and their Hinchingbrooke Country Park pre-wedding shoot was a real blast to do, and helped build the excitement for their wedding a month or two later.
