Angel & Dan’s Old Hall Ely wedding was a marvellous trans-Atlantic affair. Dan hails from Cambridgeshire, in fact in the village next to mine; while Angel is from California which is where they live. As such, lots of family and friends flew in from the States to enjoy the charm of the Old Hall Ely. Half of Dan’s family also come from Norway, which added to the international vibe of this beautiful wedding. The Old Hall played host for the whole day, with Angel and her posse of bridesmaids getting ready in the large bridal suite. Everyone braved the chill for the outdoor ceremony, held in the stunning gardens with guests seated on oak benches facing the ceremony pagoda, which was decorated beautifully by Emily Tallulah flowers. The drinks reception was then held in the elegant Orangery while a cleverly crafted cocktail wall served margaritas through a hidden foliage hatch. We made time for family photos in the lovely gardens and a few with Angel and Dan too. The dinner, speeches and dancing was held in the spacious marquee, and the dance floor was one of the liveliest I’ve experienced in years, with choreographed showpieces and plenty of freestyle moves.
