Leonie & George’s Provenance Kitchen wedding was my first visit to this wonderful outdoor venue set in the countryside between Whittlesford and Duxford, just south of Cambridge. The wedding venue is set in the grounds of the Provenance Brix + Mortar wood fired restaurant, and encompasses a tranquil orchard, contemporary barn with kitchen space and stretch tent for the party, surrounded by natural wildflower meadow. Leonie & George got married in Cambridge earlier in the day and made their way to Provenance Kitchen for the wedding meal and party. As guests were arriving there was a frequent roar in the skies as various iconic aircraft flew by as the annual Duxford Airshow was taking place a stones throw away. Once the roar of merlin engines had subsided and the last Red Arrow had streaked its coloured smoke across the sky, guests enjoyed a relaxed drinks reception and played vintage garden and fairground games. We made time for some relaxed family photos in a nice shady spot by the orchard, and then the first of the speeches took place with guests assembled by the stretch tent. Everyone then made their way into the enchanting orchard where one long table was awaiting the guests. It was beautifully decorated with seasonal flowers and it made a really special setting for a wedding breakfast. Before the amazing wood-fired food there was a fun quiz and some more speeches, and guests were served at sunset. The meal continued into dusk and twilight, and the full moon hung above the orchard. Once the evening had set in, guests then made their way to the stretch tent for cake cutting and the first dance, and the party under the moon and stars.
